It saddens me somewhat that there aren’t more places here in Canada that are organised enough to hold a protest.
Given that I won’t be able to attend the event in Toronto later today, know that my heart and soul go out to Sakineh and her family, and ALL those who would become, or have been, victims of the a brutal and barbaric system that allows the death penalty as an answer to their (supposed) crimes.
Everyone faces death as part of living.
No one deserves to have life taken away, though.
Through the process of evolution, mankind will eventually discover that s/he is able to communicate with other lifeforms – I sure hope we’ll be able to justify the taking of their lives as a food source!
But that’s besides the point – right now, we need to prove ourselves worthy of intelligently, and “humanely” taking care of our own.
Until that time, we are no further advanced that the lifeforms that sustain us.

    Peace.
