The international committee against stoning
What
is this organisation for?
How
can one become a member?
What
am I expected to do as a member?
Dear friends
You might have many
questions like the above ones. Here is some information that hopefully will answer
some of your questions.
The international committee
against stoning has been established to
1- Stop the carrying
out of stoning sentences in any country of the world
2- Fight for the
abolishment of the barbaric laws of stoning in the Islamist countries
So far about 50
organisations and individuals have joined this committee.
Membership in this
organisation is easy. If anyone is interested in becoming a member, all she/he
needs to do is to send us an E-mail or a message by post, stating their name
and their title, or the name of the organisation.
As a member you will become
part of the network. You will be informed about any stoning news and the
committee’s plans to stop it and your own responsibilities.
Members usually will be
asked to participate in the campaigns against particular stoning cases, by
writing protest letters to the governments in question or by sending the news
around and seeking solidarity among other people.
As a member you can
influence our work, you can share your ideas with the rest of us, you can let
us know quickly of any news about stoning, etc. The main point is that you belong to a network of people who are
fighting to stop atrocity and cruelty against human being in the world. This is what brings us together and
hopefully gives us enough strength to reach our goals. We are determined to
prove that in the twenty- first century, no human society will tolerate to see
its members buried in a ditch and stoned to death.
In the long run we are
planing to hold a number of international seminars about cruelty against women
and stoning in the Islamist countries. The seminars will take place in
countries like, Sweden, Germany, Britain and Canada. Details of these seminars will be sent to you once they have been
decided.
Dear friends
In order to work effectively, we rely on your help in every
way. Finding good publicity for our
news, sending protest letters, spreading awareness around yourselves and most important
of all we relay on you generous donations and fundraising.
We have no means of income
and most of us work full time to earn our own living as well as running these
campaigns. So far we have paid the
expenses of the committee from our own packets. Let us know if you know any
organisation or individual that might be able to help us.
Looking forward to hear from
you
Mina Ahadi
Coordinator of the
International committee against stoning
